Maryland State Fairgrounds
Timonium, Maryland
8:00 AM Start
Course: Winds through the Timonium neighborhoods across the street from the
Maryland State Fairgrounds.
(Question: Why isn't the race downtown this year? Answer: The Irish
Festival moved from the National Guard Armory and due to scheduling at the
Fairgrounds had to move the date back two months. Then the mayor's office
rounded up a crew due to an open air street Festival in September as originally
planned in the city. So now there are two, at least this year. But
we didn't find out about the street fair until it was too late for a permit.)
Prizes: Awards presented to top three open finishers, top masters, and top three
finishers in ten-year age groups. No double-dipping. Top seven women
in kilts will receive gift certificates to Falls Road Running.
Special Men in Kilts Category: Cash awards presented to the first seven
men to finish the race wearing a kilt in the following order: 1st - $75, 2nd -
$50, 3rd - $40, 4th - $30, 5th - $25, 6th - $20, 7th - $15. Any masters
runner (40+) finishing in the top seven wearing a kilt will receive an
additional $25
Entry Fees: $12 pre-registered, $15 race day. Runners may be an authentic kilt to run for an additional $30, or rent one for $15 with a refundable deposit. Kilts will be available at Falls Road Running and the Irish Festival.
